Christian Fellowship

Fellowship is a vital means of God’s grace. It is a particular and vital grace that God gives us through fellowship. Through fellowship, in the regular face-to-face interactions we have with believers, God has a special way to feed our souls. Through weekly corporate worship and regular community groups, God shapes and nourishes and gives stability to our souls. God actually does something miraculous for us and in us and through us as we gather together. More than anything the isolation of the lockdown has emphasized the need and the importance of this Christian interaction. and regardless of the shortcomings and the failings of congregational fellowship, it is an essential part in the experience of God’s grace. Without Christian fellowship there is a sense of incompleteness that is restored when the fellowship is established. “For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” Matt 18.20. To experience this special presence of Jesus and this particular grace of God we need to look past the failings and shortcomings and participate in this Christian fellowship. The advantages greatly outweigh the perceived shortcomings. By God’s grace we all grow in God’s grace. Some take longer (myself in particular), but in the end the truth is “And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” Php 1:6
